Hello everyone!
I'm going to be in Australia over christmas and new years and was wondering who else will be there and what activities will be going on? I am also a female traveling alone... will it be safe? And i've heard prices for hotels/hostels etc go up during december, what is the average price for a okay-ish place with a shower? Hope your all good! |

Hi ruth, there are many places in Australia that will hold your attention.Places around Sydney are a delight o watch and especially the Whale Watching Tours will be a good option. There are the blue mountains and the hunter valleys for great tours. |

Hello all I am from New Zealand so naturally I would want to promote New Zealand instead of Australia! This website is great for finding activities in New Zealand, Australia or the rest of the world. You can choose either your destination or the type of activity you want to do and it will bring up a list of suggestions. It is worth checking out. I found it very useful!
Cheers

You should be very safe in Oz. Obvioulsy, you need to be careful as you would be in any country, but on the whole it's pretty good. If you get a chance to be on the east coast, then please get up to Noosa, it's awesome there and very chilled out. One of the best beeches, plenty of accommodation and various activities including an easy trip over to Fraser Island. I'm sure you will love it. |

I love Australia! It's one of my top destinations for sure - have been there a few times, but I think one of my favourite experiences was when I went to Rottnest Island - a small island off the western coast.
The island is really beautiful because it's so beautiful and they have worked hard to preserve it. Diving is really interesting there because they have lots of shipwrecks surrounding the island, as well as the normal coral etc. I also tried out surfing but wasn't very good! Overall it's a very family orientated place which I enjoyed - one unusual feature is it is one of the only places in the world where you can find quokkas!! They are like little kangaroos or big rats, depending on how you see it ![]() |
