Trekking in Everest Region (Khumbu Region)

Treks through the Everest or Sagarmatha National Park have inspired countless dreams and adventures, including visions of scaling the highest mountain on earth to those of getting a taste of the high mountains with a pack on their back and a camera in hand; ready to capture some incredible views of the lofty snowy mountain peaks that seem to grow in this region. Everest region trekking offers you great opportunity to have unique experience. The Everest region is situated in eastern Nepal. Everest region is protected by the Sagarmatha National Park, established in 1976 with an area of 1148 square kilometers. The park is largely composed of the rugged terrain and gorges of the high Himalayas. Altitude ranges from 2845 meters above sea level (9,330ft) to the top of the world, Mt. Everest at 8848 meters (29,028ft). Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world, which is known in Nepal as "Sagarmatha" the goddess mother of the world, has long been the greatest attraction for nature lovers and trekkers alike. Solukhumbu, the heartland of the Everest Region and an integral part of the Himalayan mystique, thus provides a welcome destination for these adventurers.
The Everest Base Camp trek is the most famous trekking route in the world and this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see some of the most breathtaking scenery imaginable. Nepal is a fascinating country and the trek gives an insight into the lives and culture of the Sherpa people.

During the trekking seasons there are numerous daily flights into and out of Lukla, weather permitting. The flight from Kathmandu, which takes around forty-five minutes, passes over the fertile middle hills, with their scattered villages and terraced fields, with an amazing panorama of the high Himalaya as a backdrop. Before long the mountains close in and you are sweeping down to land at the gateway to Everest-Lukla. Situated high above the banks of the Dudh Koshi River, which carries the melt water from Everest, Lukla provides a range of services, including accommodation but most trekkers will choose to start trekking as soon as they arrive and use Lukla as a final destination on their return.
The superb trekking to the Base Camp of Mount Everest is recommended as one of the important sites to be visited before one dies.
Itinerary:
Day-01: Arrive Kathmandu, Transfer to the Hotel & welcome dinner in the evening.
Day-02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu valley & prepare for the trip.
Day-03 : Kathmandu - Lukla (2860m) - fly in the morning for 45 minutes then Commence trek to Phakding (2600m) - 4 hours.
After a very early start and an early take off from Kathmandu Domestic Airport, a 45-minute flight is all it takes to propel into the Everest region of Nepal. The landing at Lukla (2800m) is spectacular and on arrival trekking crew who organize the luggage and hustle you off for tea will greet you. After a leisurely lunch you will start the trek in earnest, setting off for a gentle walk to Phakding (2800m), a further 3 hours to the north. The trail leads through Lukla, past hotels, shops and airline offices to the edge of the Lukla plateau where the trail drops to meet the intersection of the Jiri trail at Chablung. From here the trail follows the Dudh Kosi north through the village of Ghat and then finally to Phakding where you should spend the night.
Day-04 : Phakding - Namche Bazar (3446m) - 6½ hours.
From Phakding the trail continues north up the Dudh Kosi Valley, staying 100m above the river on its West Bank. The trail leads to Jorsale (2810m) where you enter the Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park. From here you will continue on an ever-steeping trail to Namche Bazaar (3446m), known simply as Namche. En route you have cross the spectacular suspension bridge high above the confluence of the Bhote Kosi and the Dudh Kosi, and shortly after glimpse first view of Everest, way off to the northeast. The trail to Namche is steep and long, but eventually you will reach the remarkable Sherpa capital perched high on the hillside and dominated to the east by the immense bulk of Kwangde (6187m).
Day-05 : Namche Bazar, one-day rest for acclimatization.
Acclimatization is important before trekking higher, and this is a scheduled stop, which will allow you to gradually become used to the effects of altitude - the lower pressure and the thinner air. You can spend the day by taking a side trip to Thami or Khumjung, by visiting the National Park Visitor Center on the hill above Namche or by simply resting and browsing in the shops in the town. Namche is a fascinating place simply to 'hang out' and take in the culture of the mountains, from the trading of visiting Tibetans to the stories of departing mountaineers.
Day-06 : Namche Bazar - Tengboche (3867m) - 6½ hours.
From Namche you have to trek northeast on a direct line to Everest, starting up the hill to the Visitor Center and continuing on a reasonably flat easy trail high above the Dudh Kosi. Ahead of you can see one of the most beautiful mountains in the Khumbu - Ama Dablam (6856m), as well as Everest but it is still far off in the distance. At Sanasa you should branch off the trail and head up the hill to the small settlement of Phunki where you will stop for lunch. From here it is a steady descent to the Tengboche. This is a beautiful settlement where you can see the famous Tibetan Monastery. This is the place where you have to spend overnight.
Day-07 : Tengboche - Dingboche (4343m) - 6 hours.
Descend from Tengboche and cross the Imja Khola, then side hills gradually to Pangboche. An interesting Gompa site above the main village. The trekker is the midst of the Himalayas here with spectacular views all around. Dingboche lying in a shelter spot above the Imja Khola is generally more attractive. It is however note that Himalayan Rescue Association has their aid post at Pheriche.
Day-08 : Dingboche - Lobuche (4930m) - 5½ hours.
The route past Pheriche slants over a ridge and stays above the village. It joins the trail below Thungla Beautiful views of Cholatse 6440m across the valley. After another steep ascend the trail climbs up and over the terminal moraine of Khumbu glacier. The trail is rough in the parts. Stark and rugged beauty creates almost moonscape Campsite at Lobuche a wind swept collection of huts tucked in a narrow meadow between the glacier and the Lobuche Peak 6145m. Tawoche and Nuptse are particularly spectacularly from Lobuche towering almost two kilometers directly overhead.
Day-09 : Lobuche - Gorakhshep (5200m) - 4 hours.
Day-10 : Gorakhshep - Kalapattar (5545m) or Everest Base camp 5357m - Lobuche - 6 hours.
Start early in the morning to get Kalapattar. This is the place from where you can see the wide view of the Everest. Your dream will come true here.
Day-11 : Lobuche - Pangboche (3985m) - 6 hours.
Day-12 : Pangboche - Khumjung (3790m)/Khunde - 7 hours.
Day-13 : Khumjung - Syangboche (3720m) - Namche Bazar - 4 hours.
Day-14: Namche Bazar - Phakding (2600m) - 7 hours.
Day-15: Phakding-Lukla (2860m) - 3 hours, reconfirm the flight tickets.
Day-16 : Fly to Kathmandu for 45 minutes from Lukla.
Day-17: Sightseeing in ancient City Bhaktapur, Cultural program show with farewell dinner.
Day-18: Fly back your destination.

This is the best information about Nepal which is one of the best places in the world for trekking because the world’s highest mountains are situated including Mount Everest. Every year peoples visits in a huge numbers and mostly travel for trekking.
Moreover, try visiting Luray, VA, USA where you can enjoy trekking, climbing and hiking in Shenandoah National Park. I visited there and it was nice experience.

Should I Buy EMU Or UGG Boots

What are EMU boots?

Emu is a kind of large, flightless, ratite bird living in Australia and no where else.It is the national bird of Australia.

Despite the name,EMU boots has nothing to do with the emu birds. Not a single part of the boots are from the birds.

However, the boots and the birds are ugly in the same way. This may be the one connection between them.

EMU boots are sheepskin boots, just like UGG boots. And they are as “ugly” as UGG boots too. They are made under the name of EMU Australia, which is an Australian company.

EMU boots are UGG boots

What?EMU boots are a kind of ugg boots? This may seem a little weird. But it is true.

In Australia, the word ugg is a generic word instead of a brand name.It represents the kind of boots that are made of twin-face sheepskin with wool inside.

According to Wiki,in the year of 2006,the regulators in Australia ruled that

“ugg” is indeed a generic term and stated that it should be removed from the trademark register.

So,if you ask an Australian,Where can I buy a pair of UGG boots,he may ask you,Which ugg?

Should I buy EMU or UGG boots?

Technical speaking, there difference between those kind of boots.Same material, same manufacturing, same ugliness. All is the same.

Except that they are label with different brand names (outside of Australia).

Their prices are of not much differences too.A pair of average sheepskin boots sell at around $140 and EMU at around $150.Both boots are being sold in Australia,US and Europe. So buying either one won’t be a problem.

My suggestion is that if you are not a brand follower then buy a pair of whichever you feel like. Both boots are of same softness and warmth to the feet.

What’s more,if you wear a pair of EMU,no body will know that it is not UGG.
